Festivals in the High Country

30th Annual Valle Country Fair, Oct. 18th

Held on the 3rd Saturday of October, this annual country fair benefits many area ministries and nonprofit organizations. The fair welcomes 150 juried arts and crafts vendors, selling everything from pottery to handmade scarves. For information call 828-963-7883 or click www.vallecountryfair.org

31st Annual Woolly Worm Festival

Blue Ridge Parkway Road Conditions:

*Milepost 285 at Bamboo Gap to Milepost 288 at Aho Gap is closed due to work on the Goshen Creek Bridge.  The estimated time of closure is 8 months.* 

(This section is the small amount of Parkway between the entrances of Deep Gap and Blowing Rock).

Visitors can still enter and exit the Parkway at these two ramps, travel North from Deep Gap and South from Blowing Rock, as well as, get to destinations such as Price Park, Moses Cone Manor House and more.

There are 2 other closures traveling South on the Parkway from Linville.  There are detoured routes at every closed area to continue the flow of traveling.

The road will be closed for blasting on Tuesdays & Thursdays between noon & 2 pm. More Information
